The Waldviertel Women's Counseling Center offers a wide range of free and confidential support services. The counseling centers serve as central points of contact for women in various life situations, including relationship problems, financial worries, and adjusting to life after a separation. All services are confidential and free of charge, designed to help women make independent and self-determined decisions.

Women's and Family Counseling
A safe space to discuss your concerns: We offer confidential support during personal crises, relationship conflicts, or parenting issues. Together, we will find ways to improve your quality of life and develop new perspectives for you and your family.
FBZ - Women's Career Center
New paths often begin with a conversation. At the Women's Career Center, you'll find a space for orientation, personal guidance, and career opportunities. Whether you're returning to work, seeking a new direction, or have a specific job application in mind—we support you with respect and expertise every step of the way.
FiT - Women in Crafts and Technology
Breaking with gender stereotypes: FiT offers women seeking employment the opportunity to reorient themselves, to gain hands-on experience in technical and skilled trades, and to prepare for a future-proof education through targeted training.
P.QU. - Precise Qualification
Your shortcut to your dream job: P.QU. enables women seeking employment to complete individually tailored, accelerated, and practical apprenticeships in over 200 skilled trades and technical professions with comprehensive support and financial security.

Safety and support for a fresh start: We support women facing difficult housing situations by providing them with safe housing and offering psychosocial support to help them take firm steps toward a self-determined, independent life.

If a safe place is what matters most, we offer you and your children protection, stability, and support on your journey toward a self-determined life.
Women's emergency shelter
The women's emergency shelter in Gmünd offers women and children in crisis situations a safe place to stay for up to nine months. In addition to safe housing, we provide professional counseling and support to help stabilize your situation and pave the way to an independent life.
Temporary housing
Our three transitional apartments in the Waldviertel region serve as a safe haven for women and their children who have been affected by violence. Here, we offer them peace and security for up to one year. We provide intensive support in managing daily life, getting their finances back on track, and finding their own permanent housing.

We are based in the Waldviertel region and are here to support you locally. To make it as easy as possible for you to access support, we offer our full range of services at all four of our locations.

What is the Waldviertel Women's Counseling Center?
The Waldviertel Women's Counseling Center is a nonprofit organization run by women for women and girls throughout the Waldviertel region—offering comprehensive counseling, educational, and training services in a variety of areas.
What services are offered at counseling centers for women and girls?
We support women and girls aged 14 and older—free of charge, confidentially, and anonymously if desired. You can talk to us about any stress or concerns you may have. We listen, do not judge, and do not pressure you into making any decisions. You set the pace.
Our services include psychosocial and legal counseling, counseling for migrant women (interpretation services available), psychotherapy covered by health insurance, groups and events, as well as parental counseling in accordance with §95A. Sessions can take place in person, via video call, or via chat.
What services are available related to work and education?
There are various programs available in the areas of employment and education, supported by individual counseling, career guidance, and potential training opportunities. These include the Women’s Career Center, the FiT Center, and the Targeted Training Program.
What is the Women's Career Center?
The Women's Career Center is a place for career guidance and personal counseling. Here, we work with you to assess your personal and professional situation, explore your options, and plan concrete next steps.
What is the FiT Center?
FiT is a program for women that opens up new opportunities in skilled trades and technical professions. It allows participants to explore various fields of work and broaden their perspective on career options. Through hands-on experience, participants gain a solid foundation for making an informed choice about their future career path.
What is pinpoint qualification?
Targeted training enables a shortened apprenticeship program in over 200 trades. You will receive personalized support and be specifically prepared to complete your apprenticeship.

Are the services offered by the women's counseling center free of charge?
These services are free of charge. Parenting counseling under Section 95A is subject to a fee (€30 per person).
